Hi I've been advised by the home office that i should apply for "stateless", due to the facts that I'm not a citizen of any country. The following countries are the only relation to me eritrea being my mothers birth place and saudi being my birth place. Eritrea Embassy - have denied me because I don't have I.D to prove were Eritrean(which by law I am not ) also you do not have to be officially refused when applying for a stateless travel doc as I am not in the Eritrean database so I do not have the right to request a refusal letter which would have allowed me to apply for British passport. Saudi Arabia Embassy - have also denied me, as there is a law in Saudi stating that both your parents must have been born in Saudi for the child to get citizenship. Ethiopian Embassy - We got our first and only passport from them, as circumstances were different when they were issued(eritrea was under leadership of ethiopia).I have visited the embassy and they have cancelled my passport as I have not lived in Ethiopia or stated ever that is was my nationality in any legal document. So by reason I should qualify to apply for this type of document which I know is temporary, which will provide me with a picture I.D so I can go on to apply for driver license and apply for British citizenship which are my main goal. My question is am I correct in what I have stated? the home office have confirmed but I think I need a second opinion as I'm paying for my travel document application form tomorrow. I hope this hasn't been too much of an inconvenience for you to understand if so I apologies. thank you I came from france but originally from saudi arabia. I used my ethiopian passport to come over to London as that was my only passport. After applying for ayslum, I was granted leave to remain indefinite. If you need anymore information I'll be more than happy to share.... Read More »
