BuzzFeed’s Latest Poach Is From Gizmodo

In yet another step toward become the next Huffington Post big important Internet news thing, BuzzFeed snatched up Gizmodo‘s Matt Buchanan.

AllThingsD’s Peter Kafka calls him a “Gizmodo star.” Buchanan will run BuzzFeed’s new tech vertical along with Popular Mechanics John Herrman. It’s been a time of growth at Buzzfeed, what with the hiring of Politico’s Ben Smith and RollingStone.com’s Doree Shafrir now that founder Jonah Peretti is flush with cash and making big plans for his site.
